Researcher, Peg-Geo, Berlin (Internal Opportunity)

The position holder will serve several functions simultaneously, partly delivering on German programmatic work, partly as support of organizational development, core functions, and funding.

The role will be involved at once in German policy research, stakeholder management and outreach, fundraising, German communications and organizational development.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct research and analysis on German politics and policy, initiatives, and broader developments in politics, economics, finance and related areas (within E3G’s mandate).
  • Support strategy planning, implementation, and coordination.
  • Conduct regular project planning, monitoring, evaluation, and learning.
  • Map, identify, and prioritize relevant stakeholders across German government, politics, finance, civil society, and the private sector.

Develop and maintain a stakeholder database (CRM system) / distribution lists.

  • Design and deliver stakeholder dialogues, workshops, and other policy engagement events, including agenda development, participant coordination, and communications.
  • Serving as Contact Point for German media requests and journalist inquiries.
  • Prepare and contribute to communications products such as presentations, briefings and reports for internal and external use.
  • Fundraising: assist with concept notes, grant proposals and pitches.

Experience and Skills

  • Master’s degree in International Relations/Political Science, Environmental Sciences, or another relevant field
  • Native German speaker with excellent English skills, both written and spoken, and intimate knowledge of the German political ecosystem.
  • Proven track record of high performance and strong cross-cutting competencies, including analytical and problem-solving capabilities, strategic and operational thinking and the ability to act as a communications manager
  • Experience planning and delivering workshops and events in a professional setting
  • Strong ability to grasp complex issues quickly and work in a proactive, well organized manner, with a high degree of reliability and independence
  • Confident user of common MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Power Point)
