We are looking for a Financial Accountant (m/f/d) to join our team, take ownership of the day-to-day accounting for our German entity, and work closely with the Group Finance team in the UK.
Your Responsibilities
- Independently manage day-to-day accounting, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, bank, and credit card transactions
- Record and post financial transactions in accordance with German HGB and GoBD requirements
- Perform account reconciliations and resolve outstanding items and posting discrepancies
- Prepare payments and support the invoicing process
- Support monthly and annual financial closings and Group reporting
- Prepare VAT returns in collaboration with tax advisors and work with external auditors
- Support audits, intercompany reconciliations, and payroll-related accounting entries
- Maintain the fixed asset register and contribute to the optimization of digital accounting processes
What You Bring
- Completed commercial or accounting qualification, or an equivalent qualification
- Several years of experience in financial accounting in Germany, ideally within a GmbH
- Good knowledge of German HGB and GoBD requirements
- Experience with DATEV or comparable accounting software and strong Excel skills
- Fluent German and very good English skills
- Independent, structured, and detail-oriented working style
- Further qualification as a Certified Balance Sheet Accountant (IHK) is an advantage
Nice to Have
- Experience with monthly and annual closings and Group reporting
- Knowledge of intercompany accounting and working with tax advisors
- Basic knowledge of German payroll accounting and social insurance
- Experience in an international or growing company
