Job Description

What it's all about -

Visa Consulting and Analytics (VCA) is the consulting arm of Visa, and drives tangible, impactful results for clients.

Drawing on our expertise in consulting, data analytics, technology, payments and economics, VCA solves the most strategic problems for our clients.

VCA's core client segments include issuers, acquirers, merchants, fintechs, payment enablers and governments.

Within VCA exists VCA Implementation Services (VIS), a hands-on execution partner, implementing, operating, and optimizing Visa products in client environments to accelerate activation, portfolio growth, risk control, and data-driven performance.

For our VIS team, we are seeking a Consulting Project Manager to lead client-facing implementation and technology delivery engagements.

The role combines technical project management, business analysis, solution design, stakeholder management, and consulting problem-solving.

The successful candidate will work closely with clients, Visa teams, suppliers, and third-party partners to deliver complex payment, digital product, and technology implementation projects.

Key Responsibilities

Project Delivery

  • Lead end-to-end delivery of multiple concurrent projects (e. g., card portfolio migrations, processor implementation), owning project plans, milestones, timelines, dependencies, governance, RAID management, and executive reporting.
  • Drive business analysis activities, including requirements engineering, process mapping, prioritisation, gap analysis, and solution documentation to ensure successful project outcomes.
  • Coordinate delivery across Visa, clients, processors, suppliers, and technology partners while contributing to solution design, architecture discussions, and API-based implementation planning.
  • Technical Leadership
  • Act as the bridge between business stakeholders and technical delivery teams, translating business objectives into clear requirements, delivery plans, and solution approaches.
  • Provide guidance on system integrations, APIs, technical dependencies, operating models, and high-level solution architecture to support informed decision-making.
  • Ensure technical decisions, architecture principles, and implementation approaches are clearly documented, understood, and aligned with client and Visa objectives.
  • Client & Stakeholder Management
  • Serve as the primary client contact and trusted advisor, building strong relationships across client organisations, Visa teams, and external partners.
  • Manage stakeholder expectations, priorities, governance forums, and executive communications across both business and technical audiences.
  • Proactively manage risks, issues, dependencies, escalations, and supplier performance to ensure successful delivery and stakeholder alignment.
  • Consulting & Problem Solving
  • Analyse business, operational, and technical challenges to develop actionable recommendations, implementation plans, and practical solutions.
  • Identify opportunities to leverage Visa capabilities, products, Value-Added Services, and broader ecosystem expertise to deliver measurable client value.
  • Create compelling presentations, decision papers, and executive recommendations while contributing to delivery methodologies, best practices, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Business Development
  • Identify engagement opportunities and support account growth activities.
  • Contribute to proposal development, solution design, scope definition, and pricing discussions.
  • Collaborate with Account Executives, VCA, Product, and Sales teams to expand client value and drive revenue growth.
  • Team Leadership
  • Lead cross-functional project teams in a matrix environment, providing direction, structure, and oversight throughout the delivery lifecycle.
  • Coach, mentor, and develop team members through regular feedback, knowledge sharing, and professional development support.
  • Foster a collaborative, accountable, and delivery-focused culture while promoting a strong "One Visa" mindset across teams, functions, and geographies.

Visa requires at least 3 days in office, expectations of these days will be confirmed by your Hiring Manager.

Qualifications

  • What we'd like from you -
  • Proven experience in technical project management, consulting, or digital product management within payments, financial services, or technology sectors.
  • Knowledge of the payments ecosystem, card issuing, acquiring, digital payments, or related domains preferred.
  • Experience managing software implementation projects, with an understanding of API-based integrations and solution architecture concepts.
  • Experience with business analysis, requirements engineering, and solution design.
  • Ability to steer third-party suppliers effectively and manage dependencies across multiple delivery partners.
  • Ability to engage confidently with both business and technical stakeholders.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Fluency in German and English, both verbal and written, is a must.
  • Visa is an EEO Employer

Qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, sexual orientation, gender identity, disability or protected veteran status.
