About the Role
As a Design Engineer, you will play a key role within the Design Engineering team in Glinde, working in the department led by Holger Kruse. Due to increasing demands in regulatory compliance, lifecycle management, and new product development, we are strengthening our team to ensure we continue to deliver high‑quality, innovative solutions. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining mechanical designs, coordinating subcontracted development activities, and supporting products throughout their full lifecycle. You will work in an international project environment, collaborating with engineers, suppliers, and customers to ensure that technical solutions meet specifications, regulatory requirements, and customer expectations.
Key Responsibilities
- Technical Coordination: Understand, define, and coordinate technical requirements for subcontracted development tasks, from design through to build.
- Project Contribution: Participate in multidisciplinary project teams (up to 5 members), collaborating with international colleagues and stakeholders.
- Concept & Solution Development: Develop design concepts and technical solutions based on customer needs, including troubleshooting existing machinery and creating innovative designs.
- Lifecycle Support: Support products throughout their entire lifecycle, ensuring compliance with regulations and managing lifecycle updates effectively.
- Documentation & Knowledge Sharing: Create, maintain, and improve technical documentation to support commissioning, customer training, and aftercare.
- CAD Design & Engineering: Develop and modify 3D models and technical drawings using SolidWorks (or similar CAD tools).
- Data & Configuration Management: Manage product data in PDM systems (Windchill) and maintain accurate BOM structures within ERP systems.
- Compliance & Standards: Ensure designs meet relevant industry regulations, quality standards, and internal engineering guidelines.

What You Bring
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.
- Relevant experience in mechanical design and machine building or industrial equipment.
- Experience with CAD tools (preferably SolidWorks).
- Familiarity with PDM systems (e.g., Windchill) and ERP systems for BOM management.
- Experience in creating and maintaining technical documentation.
- Understanding of product lifecycle management and regulatory compliance.
- Strong German and English communication skills.
Nice to Have
- Experience working with subcontracted engineering or external partners.
- Knowledge of food processing or hygienic design standards.
- Experience in international project environments.
