Electrical & Software Design Engineer – Glinde, Germany

Primary Location: Glinde, Germany | Employment Type: Full‑Time, Hybrid | Department: Prepared Foods – Design Engineering

About the Role

You will play an integral role within the Design Engineering team in Glinde, working in the department led by Holger Kruse. As automation, software development, lifecycle management, and system optimization demands grow, you will develop electrical systems and software for machine control, coordinate technical requirements, and support products throughout their lifecycle in an international project environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define and align technical requirements for assigned development tasks, ensuring smooth execution from concept to implementation.
  • Develop low‑voltage electrical systems for machines, including control systems, drive systems, operator terminals, safety components, and sensors.
  • Design and implement software for machine control systems, visualizations (HMI), and drive technologies.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary project teams, working closely with international colleagues and stakeholders.
  • Support products throughout their entire lifecycle, including commissioning, troubleshooting, and continuous improvements.
  • Analyze and improve the electrical and software performance of existing machines and systems.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation to support development, commissioning, and aftercare.
  • Conduct studies to evaluate new technologies, architectures, and automation concepts.
  • Contribute to the “Group for Electronics” across development sites to share knowledge and standardize solutions.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.
  • Professional experience with automation systems and commissioning of machines or plant prototypes.
  • Hands‑on experience with PLC programming, HMI development, or drive systems.
  • Experience integrating hardware and software in industrial environments.
  • Experience in creating and maintaining technical documentation.
  • Strong communication skills in both German and English.
  • Nice to have: international project environments, industrial communication protocols, machine safety, food processing or machinery industry experience.
