Technical Consultant - Kubernetes Delivery Location: Fribourg, Switzerland | Type: Full-time, permanent
A Swiss-born software company operating across 80+ countries, with over 1,500 banking and financial institution clients worldwide. Their platform sits at the heart of how banks detect financial crime, real-time fraud, AML, sanctions screening, and KYC, running in some of the most regulated and security-sensitive environments in the world.
We are growing their Fribourg-based delivery team and are looking for a Technical Consultant who will deploy and implement the platform directly into banking client infrastructure across the DACH region and internationally.
The Role This is a client-facing technical delivery role. You will not be managing internal infrastructure, instead you will be deploying this Kubernetes-native platform into client-owned environments: on-premises data centres, private cloud, and in some cases air-gapped banking networks where internet access is restricted or absent.
You will work directly with technical teams at major financial institutions, own the deployment end-to-end, and troubleshoot in complex, regulated environments. The engineering challenge here is real, no two client environments are the same, and the constraints you work within (air-gapped networks, change management windows, client-specific infrastructure quirks) require genuine depth, not just certification.
Day-to-day, this means
Deploying and configuring the platform across SaaS (AWS/Azure), on-premises, and air-gapped environments
Authoring and managing Helm charts, including templating, value override strategies, and chart versioning
Operating ArgoCD-based GitOps pipelines to manage deployment state and handle drift
Troubleshooting Kubernetes resource issues, image pull failures, networking problems, and registry access in restricted environments
Working within change management windows and documented processes typical of regulated banking clients
Collaborating with client infrastructure teams to resolve environment-specific issues
Non‑negotiable technical requirements
Kubernetes in production: you have deployed and operated Kubernetes clusters in live environments, not just lab or PoC
Work‑Client-facing delivery: you have deployed software into infrastructure you do not own or control - this is the single most important differentiator for this role
Helm depth: beyond CLI usage - chart authoring, templating, value override strategies
OpenShift: familiarity required, as many banking clients run OpenShift environments
Air‑gapped or restricted‑network experience: you have worked in environments where external registry or internet access is limited or absent, and know how to handle offline registries, certificate management, and connectivity troubleshooting in those contexts. ArgoCD and GitOps: hands‑on production experience, not just theoretical knowledge.
Strong additional signals
Experience in banking, financial services, or other regulated industry delivery
Kafka familiarity - our platform is event‑driven and Kafka is central to the architecture
CKA, CKAD, or equivalent Kubernetes certification
Valid Swiss or EU work permit - we are unable to support permit sponsorship
3 days a week in the Fribourg office
This Role Is Not for You
If your Kubernetes experience is internal platform or SRE work only - managing your own company's infrastructure is a different motion to deploying into client-owned environments
You have never worked in an air-gapped or on-premises delivery context
Your Helm usage is limited to running existing charts rather than authoring and templating them
You require permit sponsorship to work in Switzerland.
What You Get
A technically challenging role with genuine variety, with no two client environments ever being the same
Direct exposure to how banks around the world manage financial crime infrastructure
Part of a global delivery team with the backing of a mature, well‑resourced Swiss RegTech platform with 37 years of market presence
