The Société de l’Aéroport de Luxembourg (lux-Airport) is the aerodrome operator responsible for the operation of the airport infrastructure. Our platform provides, among other things, direct flight services to more than 100 destinations via 16 airlines.
We have more than 350 employees, with different backgrounds and 19 nationalities. Together we work daily to ensure the efficient operation of the airport and to provide a quality service to our passengers.
Thanks to everyone’s commitment, we live up to our motto of being the best-in-class airport. Our reputation is also reflected in a few key figures: by the end of 2022, for example, we reached 4.05 million passengers and 975,000 tonnes of cargo.
In order to continue to meet our commitments and to develop other projects, we are currently recruiting: an Airside Engineer – Team „New Projects“ – in Finance and Real Estate Department.
The objective of the position is to join our „New Projects“ team, in order to develop airside projects. The ideal profile is electrical and/or civil engineering oriented.
Your responsibilities
Your daily tasks
- Simultaneously managing several projects of various sizes and nature in the fields of civil engineering and/or specific airport electrical and technical installations (Airfield ground lighting-AGL);
- Defining concepts, solutions and methodologies in response to technical and operational airport constraints and needs;
- Drawing up specifications, plans, invitations to tender, carrying out risk analyses and budgetary monitoring of airport maintenance projects and works;
- Planning, coordinating, organising and monitoring the execution of projects, ensuring that they are delivered on time, in accordance with the specifications and allocated budgets;
- Supporting the development of the Geographic Information System (GIS) and ensure the updating of the data contained therein;
- Ensuring the provision and follow-up of updates to documentation and plans;
- Taking charge of the management of internal preventive and corrective maintenance activities for airport civil engineering infrastructures;
- Supporting the management of external maintenance activities of airport technical and electrical installations in order to guarantee their operational maintenance;
- Coordinating internal and external resources according to capacity, skills and experience to ensure the successful execution of projects;
Your other missions
- Preparing and participating in internal and external audits (EASA-DAC) in collaboration with the different entities involved;
- Developing tools, procedures, documents (manuals, reports, etc) and ensuring their follow-up in compliance with the airport regulations in force;
- Developing relationships and synergies with local external entities in charge of airport techniques, organising and coordinating with them maintenance and construction work in compliance with contractual agreements and regulations in force;
- Planning and budgeting maintenance works and airside engineering projects;
- Supporting the maintenance and project department teams as required;
- Participating in the integration of new employees.
The required profile
ATTENTION: The position may generate the need to be on call for specific needs.
Postgraduate degree (Engineer or Master) in civil or electrical engineering or equivalent experience
Experience :
- 10 years experience in civil or electrical engineering;
- The following experience is desirable for the position:
- Experience in the installation and maintenance of civil or technical airport infrastructures (AGL and high voltage);
- Experience in the field of EASA regulations relating to airport infrastructure (CS-ADR);
- Experience in Luxembourg public procurement regulations and documentation.
Skills and knowledge required:

Mandatory :
- Microsoft Office Suite;
- Specific knowledge of project management (MS project);
- Knowledge of CAD tools (Autocad, GIS-ESRI);
- Knowledge of the bus system (EIB/ KNX).
Languages:
- English: fluent spoken and written;
- French: fluent spoken and written;
- German is a plus.
Specific knowledge linked to the job:
Knowledge of EASA regulations relating to airport infrastructure.
