Welcome to Guidehouse’s Europe and Middle East (EME) public sector (PS) team within our global Energy, Sustainability and Infrastructure segment (ES&I). With more than 700 consultants, ES&I is the largest energy and sustainability consulting team worldwide. What You Will Do:
- Join our EME PS team as a Managing Consultant to lead projects transforming the buildings sector towards sustainability and climate neutrality, balancing environmental, societal, and economic considerations.
- Collaborate across disciplines with engineers, scientists, economists, and policymakers to develop balanced, cost-effective solutions.
- Engage in data gathering, analysis, complex calculations & simulations, policy analysis, report writing, and presenting findings to clients.
- Enjoy opportunities to learn, challenge yourself, and develop skills through hands-on experience and formal training via the Guidehouse Learning platform.
What You Will Need:
- A degree in natural sciences, engineering, economics focused on technology, or political science, with top academic performance.
- 5-7 years of relevant experience in energy and/or climate analysis, including internships.
- A passion for climate action, especially decarbonizing the building and heating sectors within their complex contexts.
- Interest in expanding expertise in district heat/heat networks.
- Strong analytical, conceptual, communication, and networking skills.
- Flexibility and willingness to travel occasionally, including outside Europe (e.g., MENA, US).
- Fluent in German (C1 or higher) and English, both written and spoken.
Nice to Have:
Experience in:
- Building energy calculation/simulation (e.g., TRNSYS, EnergyPlus)
- R programming or advanced Excel skills
- Heat network analysis or policies
- Sector coupling, heat pumps, EVs, hydrogen integration
- Life-cycle assessment methods and tools
- Understanding of national and international policy cycles
