Job Description:

You will be based in one of our offices in Germany or Austria. You will work in teams and directly with our clients.

When you join McKinsey as a Junior Fellow, you join a firm that will challenge you and invest heavily in your professional development. You will have the opportunity to work with top organizations across the private, public, and social sectors to solve complex problems. You will collaborate with a range of experts, from data scientists to researchers to software and app designers.

You will work in teams of typically 3 – 5 consultants, actively participating in all aspects of client engagement.

Your responsibilities will include gathering and analyzing information, formulating and testing hypotheses, and developing and communicating recommendations. You will also present results to client management and help implement recommendations alongside client team members.

You will receive exceptional training, regular coaching, and mentorship from colleagues. This includes guidance from a partner assigned to you, formal training sessions, and support in selecting client projects to develop your skills and network.

Most consultants initially have a broad focus, not requiring specific industry or functional expertise. Experienced professionals may build on previous knowledge or develop new expertise.

• Undergraduate or master’s degree, or 1 – 3 years of work experience post-undergrad
• Outstanding academic achievement
• Aptitude for analytics
• Proven leadership in work or extracurricular activities
• Exceptional analytical and quantitative problem-solving skills
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team
• Effective communication skills in English and local languages, both verbal and written
