Join us as a Senior Embedded Systems Engineer (m/f/d) in our Cabin Safety team on a shared journey that matters!
To make the vision of an autonomously driving mobility service a reality, we are building the business domain of Vehicle Integration with new product development teams. These teams develop applications and tools needed to enable autonomous passenger management within MOIA vehicles. Key questions include passenger authentication without a driver, ensuring cabin safety during boarding and rides, and content display on vehicle screens for a safe user experience.
The Cabin Safety team owns the vertical integration of features that make journeys safe, focusing on key moments like boarding and continuous operation monitoring using multi-sensor layers in challenging environments.
The team includes roles from backend and embedded developers to quality specialists, safety experts, and product owners. Join us if you want to solve challenges in an agile, customer-driven environment.

If you live in Germany but prefer not to relocate, that\’s okay. We offer a hybrid work mode with home office flexibility. Visiting the Hamburg office once a month is optional but appreciated.
What you will do
- Develop camera-based cabin surveillance solutions
- Design and optimize these solutions to meet business goals
- Plan and execute tests for functionality and performance
- Build systems respecting safety, security, and quality standards
- Coordinate with suppliers and partners on camera solutions
- Provide expert guidance, mentorship, and support to the team
- Participate in the full development cycle: design, implementation, QA, maintenance
- Work in an autonomous, cross-functional team of talented engineers
What will help you fulfill your role
- Strong focus on video processing algorithms and machine/deep learning
- Solid knowledge of software architecture, implementation, and testing
- Experience in high-reliability industries (automotive, medical, aerospace) with standards like ASPICE, ISO26262, homologation
- Experience designing solutions based on business use cases
- Experience evaluating machine/deep learning performance
- Hands-on with C++ 11/14 or later; Python beneficial
- Experience with video streaming frameworks like gstreamer
- Familiarity with Linux on multicore ARM-based SoCs
- Knowledge of protocols like RTSP, MQTT, SOME/IP
- Experience with SIL/HiL testing in CI/CD pipelines
- Nice-to-have: ROS/ROS2, AUTOSAR experience
