TPI Composites is the leading wind-blade manufacturer and the only independent wind blade manufacturer with a global footprint. We are looking for a motivated Customer Warranty Technical Leader to join our Customer Warranty Management (CWM) Department. The position reports to the Problem-Solving Manager.
Key objectives
The new Customer Warranty Management (CWM) Department oversees TPI Composite blade products\‘ integrity at customer sites (windfarms) within the warranty period. As our new Customer Warranty Technical Leader, you are an excellent communicator and a recognized technical leader in composites engineering, manufacturing, and problem solving, with direct knowledge of wind blade production processes including infusion, composite repair, inspection, troubleshooting, failure analysis, root cause analysis, corrective and preventive actions, and design for manufacturability.
Main Responsibilities:
- Lead multiple warranty technical projects across different products and customers.
- Act as Technical Project Leader in warranty projects, forming teams from various internal functions (Engineering, Quality, Factories, CWM Technical Support) and guiding them through all technical project phases. Escalate deviations and risks.
- Ensure compliance with internal CWM processes and seek continuous improvement.
- Manage technical projects by planning tasks, assigning responsibilities, monitoring progress, and escalating risks such as resource shortages or technical issues.
- Critically evaluate technical input and validate assumptions.
- For complex projects, coordinate with a dedicated Special Warranty Project Manager for planning and resource management.
- Communicate regularly with the customer’s project interface and support the Customer Warranty Relations Manager in communication with the customer’s central organization.
- Escalate complex customer communications or strategic issues to the Customer Warranty Relations Manager.
- Assist Field Service Project Managers in windfarm fieldwork preparations, ensuring clear work packages and monitoring progress to report to customers.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering required; MSc, MBA, or PhD preferred.
- At least 10 years of industry experience, with a minimum of 5 years in wind blade composites.
- Project management experience; PMP certification preferred.
- Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification preferred, with a strong problem analysis and resolution track record.
- Proficiency in computer skills and excellent presentation abilities.
- High attention to quality and detail.
- Experience working with vendors, customers, and cross-functional teams.
- Ability to maintain a safe work environment.
- Fluent in English (speaking, reading, writing).
