Job Description:
Splunk is seeking a highly motivated, outcome-focused individual to join our pre-sales Solutions Engineering team as a Solutions Engineer (m/f/d) within the German Strategic team. As a Solutions Engineer, you will be a technical sales resource supporting clients from DAX, MDAX, and selected private companies. You will be the authority on the technical aspects of our solutions and their integration within clients\‘ workflows and tooling.
Role: Splunk’s technical sellers aim to unify, advance, and expand the value of the Splunk portfolio by providing deep technical and domain expertise to introduce and operationalize Security and Observability use-cases and solutions. Solutions Engineers are customer-facing technical account leaders responsible for technical engagement across products, domains, and use cases.
This role requires a self-motivated learner with a passion for solving security and observability problems. Customer interactions will include aligning use-cases to Splunk capabilities, guiding solutions to meet business objectives, presenting to senior staff, and partnering with Solution Architects to operationalize advanced use-cases.
A successful Solutions Engineer maintains a technical understanding of Splunk solutions and builds cross-functional relationships to support growth.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain expertise in Splunk’s portfolio and its alignment to customer challenges.
- Own technical engagement and customer experience in assigned accounts.
- Drive deeper product penetration within accounts.
- Operationalize Splunk’s solutions in customer environments.
- Build and maintain relationships with key customer personas.
- Lead relevant technical resources to ensure customer success.
- Promote Splunk’s use-cases at industry events and with regional customers and partners.
Required Expertise:
- 5+ years experience in selling and delivering enterprise software solutions for cloud, on-premise, and hybrid environments.
- Experience with SaaS delivery models.
- Experience in cybersecurity and/or observability is highly desired.
- Ability to develop and lead customer technical strategies.
- Trusted advisor status with customers.
- Familiarity with programming/scripting (e.g., Python, JavaScript).
- Practical experience with public cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, Azure).
- Experience with enterprise software installation, configuration, and administration.
- Experience working with German large enterprise customers is a plus.
- Experience in security (EDR, XDR, SIEM, SOC, SOAR) and observability is a plus.

- Organized, analytical, and creative in overcoming sales obstacles.
- Willingness to travel within Germany.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
- Fluent in English and German (spoken and written).
- Motivated, curious, positive attitude, team-oriented.
Nice to have:
- Experience with Splunk or competing solutions.
Note: OTE (On Target Earnings) for Germany ranges from €112,000 to €154,000, including base salary and incentives. Flexible working arrangements are available. The actual OTE will depend on location, skills, and experience, and may include equity or long-term awards.
