Our Client, a prominent global leader in the design and manufacture of industrial automation components, provides advanced solutions in the sectors of industrial and building automation. Our product range includes sensors, monitoring relays, timers, energy management systems, solid state-relays, safety devices, and fieldbus systems. Operating across Europe, the Americas, and Asia-Pacific, we leverage a network of 23 owned sales companies and over 60 independent national distributors.
POSITION OVERVIEW:
We are seeking a dynamic and skilled Area Sales Engineer for Western Switzerland. This role involves driving new business development and achieving corporate sales and marketing objectives in the region. The successful candidate will report directly to the Sales & Marketing Manager of Switzerland and will be a key player in enhancing our market presence and sales performance in Western Switzerland.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Regularly visit potential customers and distributors to develop product sales within Western Switzerland.
- Target key customer groups such as Machine Builders, System Integrators, and Panel Builders to create and increase market demand for our electronic/electrical automation component products.
- Drive continuous improvement of sales strategies to boost sales and profitability in the assigned region.
- Collaborate with distributors, product managers, and sales teams to develop and execute action plans that are instrumental in achieving sales objectives.
- Identify market potentials and opportunities in Western Switzerland, optimizing sales channels for our products.
- Prepare detailed sales reports, showing sales volume and providing business sales forecasting.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Solid and successful B2B sales experience in automation components to key accounts such as OEMs, panel builders, and distributors in the local market.
- Proficient in creating, negotiating, and closing business opportunities.
- High level of communication, presentation, and numeracy skills, coupled with a self-driven desire to find solutions to problems.
- Degree in electronics, automation, or electrical engineering with a good understanding of the components market (Components, Switching, Sensors, etc.).
- At least five years of work experience in sales of industrial controls, switches, sensor components, and energy products.
- Strong passion for the Industrial and Building Automation market; ability to work independently and directly with local customers to achieve sales objectives.
- Existing industry contacts and experience working with distributor channel partners.
- Ability to operate effectively both independently and as part of a team within the assigned territory.
- Fluency in French and a good level of English; Italian is an advantage.
- Proficiency in IT tools, including ERP and CRM systems.
- Hands-on, pragmatic approach with numerous practical achievements.
- Flexibility and adaptability to new plans; enthusiasm for customer support despite its unpredictability.
- Ability to handle pressure in a demanding work environment.
