This task involves the internalisation and further setup of the legal department and reflects the organisation’s commitment to strengthening its legal and compliance capabilities. You will structure the department and in a second step hire 2 legal counsel / advisors to build a powerful team for future challenges.

As the Head of the Inhouse Legal and Compliance, you will be part of the Group Executive Committee. You will lead the legal and compliance department, overseeing all aspects of legal and regulatory affairs within the organization and provide legal services that support business growth. You will play a critical role in safeguarding the organization’s legal and regulatory interests while fostering a culture of compliance and ethical behaviour.

Your responsibilities will include:

  1. Setup the internal legal & compliance department and hire your colleagues and lead the team.
  2. Designing and implementing policies and procedures to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations for the various entities of the group.
  3. Providing expert legal counsel and guidance to senior management and key stakeholders.
  4. Managing relationships with external legal counsel and regulatory bodies.
  5. Reviewing and negotiating a variety of commercial contracts, non-disclosure agreements, etc.
  6. Developing and delivering legal trainings and tools to employees globally.
  7. Staying current with changes in legislation affecting the business.
  8. Build and lead an effective team of legal and compliance professionals to achieve departmental goals.

The following skills are required:

  1. You are in possession of a master’s degree in law; MBA or LLM qualification is an asset.
  2. A minimum of 3 years of professional experience ideally as well in M&A or consulting roles as an Inhouse-Council.
  3. A deep and thorough understanding of commercial and corporate law – Points of contact with the machine industry is a big plus.
  4. Exceptional skills in communication and presentation.
  5. Demonstrated excellence in negotiation and contract drafting.
  6. The capacity to cultivate and sustain robust professional relationships across the organization.
  7. The ability to convey legal matters and risks in terms understandable to non-legal colleagues.
  8. Proven capability to thrive in a highly autonomous role, being ambitious and self-driven, ready to deep dive and learn new things.
  9. Ongoing participation in specialized and relevant training programs.
  10. Excellent command of English and good German language skills.
