Job Description:
Description: The design of high voltage (HV) devices, such as gas circuit breakers (CB) and gas insulated switchgear (GIS), requires simulations and experiments for verification of insulation and switching performance. Additionally, research activities in the area of gas circuit breakers are enhanced by various computer-aided-engineering tools. The aim of the internship is to contribute to the preparation of the test setup, perform simulations, as well as experimental data post-processing and analysis. The superior goal is the achievement of high-end quality of the product. The duration of the internship is 6 to 12 months.
Your responsibilities:
- Working in a project for pre-product development
- Preparation of the experiments and post-processing of the experimental results
- Simulations (electric fields, mechanical stresses, thermal behavior, etc.)
- CAD support for prototyping
Your background:
- Enrolled student in physics, electrical/mechanical engineering, or a related subject (advanced B.Sc. or M.Sc. course)
- Fluency in written and spoken English
- Team player and well organized
- Creative and able to work autonomously
- Laboratory and experimental experience is an advantage
- Proficiency with MATLAB, CAD tools, COMSOL, or ANSYS package is a plus
