We are seeking a detail-oriented and commercially minded Finance Specialist to join our team in Germany. This role will support the financial management and day-to-day finance operations of our German entity, working closely with external advisors and our headquarters.
The successful candidate will be responsible for local financial accounting and management, tax compliance, cash flow monitoring, financial reporting and financial risk management. You will also provide timely financial analysis and support to help drive informed business decisions and sustainable growth in the European market.
Key Responsibilities
1.Financial Accounting & Local Compliance
- Review monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements in accordance with German accounting standards (HGB).
- Coordinate and support local financial closing activities and ensure compliance with statutory and group requirements.
- Oversee the accounting treatment and reconciliation of inventory and key balance sheet accounts.
2.Tax & External Advisor Coordination
- Act as the key finance contact for external tax advisors (Steuerberater) and coordinate the preparation and review of financial information required for VAT, corporate income tax and trade tax filings.
- Support communication with German tax authorities (Finanzamt) and assist with tax audits and related inquiries.
- Monitor changes in German tax regulations, including transfer pricing requirements, assess their potential impact on the German entity, and promptly report significant developments that may materially affect the subsidiary’s tax position to headquarters.
3.Cash Flow & Internal Controls
- Monitor bank accounts and cash flow, prepare liquidity forecasts and support effective cash management.
- Coordinate intercompany reconciliations and treasury-related activities with headquarters.
- Support the development and continuous improvement of internal financial controls, including approval processes, expense management and payment procedures.
4.Financial Reporting & Business Support
- Prepare local management reports, including expense analysis, budget variance analysis and other financial reports required by headquarters.
- Support annual audits by preparing relevant financial documentation and audit working papers.
- Partner closely with business teams and management to provide financial analysis and insights that support business decisions.
5.Financial Risk Management
- Support customer due diligence (KYC) and credit risk assessment for European customers.
- Provide financial and risk-related insights to local management and headquarters to support sound commercial decisions.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or above in Finance, Accounting, Taxation, or a related field, with 2–5 years of relevant finance or accounting experience in Germany. Experience in a multinational company or in the manufacturing, renewable energy, or international trade industry is preferred.
- Solid knowledge of German accounting standards (HGB) and relevant German tax regulations, particularly VAT and corporate taxation. Experience working with German tax advisors (Steuerberater) is highly preferred.
- Hands‑on experience with DATEV or other German accounting systems, with strong financial reporting and analytical skills. Advanced proficiency in Excel is required; experience with Power BI is a plus.
- Relevant professional qualifications, such as Bilanzbuchhalter or Steuerfachwirt, as well as experience with transfer pricing or the finance function of a German subsidiary of a multinational company, are advantageous.
- Native‑level Mandarin Chinese and fluent German (C1 level or above), with the ability to independently communicate with tax authorities, tax advisors, and other external stakeholders. Professional working proficiency in English is also required.
- Strong attention to detail and numerical accuracy, with excellent communication and cross‑functional coordination skills. A high level of integrity, professionalism, compliance awareness, and a proactive, results‑oriented mindset are essential.
