Sustainability Projects Developer (m/w/d)

In this challenging role, you will develop business cases for sustainability projects in collaboration with technology suppliers and authorities in the areas of Green H2, CCUS, and CO2 emissions reduction to meet the goals of the group in Germany and the TotalEnergies refinery Central Germany in Leuna. You will prepare the related dossiers for approval by TotalEnergies management.

To achieve the goals, you will monitor the development of legal guidelines and regulations that could impact the company’s interests and inform stakeholders. You will represent TotalEnergies‘ interests to the German authorities by explaining the strategy and challenges and acting proactively to propose further development of the related rules. Together with external consulting firms, state and federal authorities, and our technology partners, you will develop financing strategies that include subsidy programs.

You will report to the Head of Economics and Sustainability.

You are a senior engineer with at least 15 years of professional experience, during which you have acquired in-depth knowledge of the technology and processes used in a refinery or in the chemical industry. You have conceptual, innovative, and strategic thinking skills with a focus on developing new, integrating business chains incorporating renewable energies.

With your strong communication skills, you are able to present even complex information and legal contexts in an understandable manner. You know the relevant German legislation. You speak German and English fluently; knowledge of French would be an advantage.
