Oil Shipping Market Analyst — Real-Time Insights in Genève

pBxT is a joint venture between TotalEnergies and Bapco Energies, bringing together complementary market expertise, trading capabilities and regional presence. /ppBased in Dubai and reporting to the Product Charterer, the Shipping Market Analyst will join BxT's shipping and trading activities, supporting commercial and strategic decision-making through high-quality analysis of oil shipping markets, tanker dynamics and freight economics. The role will work closely with the freight and trading desks, as well as BxT teams in Geneva, contributing to key internal tools, publications and market intelligence. /ppThis is a hands-on analytical position requiring a strong understanding of energy and shipping markets, the ability to turn complex and real-time data into actionable insights, and advanced Python capabilities to develop robust analytical tools. The successful candidate will operate with a high degree of autonomy in a fast-paced, trading-oriented environment. /ph3strongActivities /strong /h3ulliUnderstand the drivers of oil shipping and freight markets, including refining and trade flows. /liliCollect and structure real-time data on tanker markets and freight rates. /liliDevelop ad-hoc indicators and decision-making tools to track market trends. /liliBuild scenario-based models to interpret signals from the oil and freight markets. /liliIdentify business needs and develop automated market intelligence tools. /liliProvide timely insights to support trading strategies and market positioning. /liliProduce regular and ad-hoc reports for the oil chartering team. /liliContribute to the development of U-TRACK, our proprietary Trading Shipping tracking tool. /li /ulh3Role Characteristics /h3ulliAutonomy: You will be responsible for your own analyses and their dissemination. /liliReactivity: You will operate in a time-sensitive environment where real-time information is critical. /liliCollaboration: You will work closely with trading desks and analysts across regions. /liliImpact: Your insights will shape trading decisions and strategic orientations. /li /ulh3strongCandidate Profile /strong /h3ulliMaster’s degree in economics, engineering, or energy. /liliStrong understanding of energy markets, trading, and shipping. /liliAbility to communicate complex topics clearly in English (Arabic is a plus). /liliStrong proficiency in Python programming, with experience developing and maintaining analytical solutions involving tools and libraries such as Streamlit, Pandas, API integrations, and automation.
