TotalEnergies Trading & Shipping is a key pillar of the TotalEnergies Group, contributing to the optimization and secure flow of energy across global markets. Based in Geneva, our Trading & Shipping teams operate in a fast‑moving, international environment, working closely with traders, shipping, finance, credit, legal, operations and external counterparties to support the end‑to‑end execution of physical energy transactions. We are looking for a Trading Operator to join our Operations team. This is a central role for someone who enjoys coordination, problem‑solving, precision and working in a business‑critical environment where decisions have a direct impact.
Aktivitäten
As a Trading Operator, you will coordinate the operational execution of trading activities from deal inception through to final settlement.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Coordinating logistics for loading and discharging operations by sea and/or overland
- Following up on vessels and optimizing rotations, loading plans and operational timelines
- Liaising with traders, counterparties, service providers, inspectors, shipping teams and internal support functions
- Managing storage and processing contracts, including quantities, qualities, customs and financial exposure
- Identifying and resolving operational issues in coordination with all relevant stakeholders
- Supporting the management of financial guarantees in collaboration with the Credit department
- Monitoring costs related to transactions and communicating operational data impacting trading results
- Reviewing the feasibility of trading negotiations and supporting the formalisation of commercial contracts
- Following claims, insurance matters and damage reports when required
- Ensuring compliance with applicable regulatory requirements, internal procedures, HSE standards and business integrity rules
- Supporting invoicing, payment follow‑up and recovery processes where applicable
Profil des candidats
You hold a Master’s degree in Engineering, Business, Finance or a related field, and ideally have a first experience in a fast‑paced, international environment. An Engineering background, particularly in Chemical, Process, Petroleum or Energy Engineering, would be considered a strong advantage.
You will thrive in this role if you:
- Have a strong interest in energy, commodities, trading, refining or shipping
- Have a good understanding of refinery operations, refining processes and product manufacturing units, such as distillation, conversion units, blending and upgrading
- Bring knowledge of petroleum product specifications, refinery yields and supply chain constraints, which would be considered a strong asset
- Are rigorous, organised and able to manage multiple priorities under time pressure
- Enjoy solving problems and coordinating with many different stakeholders
- Have strong analytical skills, attention to detail and risk awareness across the supply chain
- Are comfortable working in a dynamic, high‑pressure environment where priorities can evolve quickly
- Demonstrate team spirit, flexibility and a strong sense of commitment
- Are proactive, curious and willing to learn
- Are fluent in English and French; any additional language is a plus
- Are comfortable with IT tools and data‑driven ways of working
