Role Description
The Cash Planning Analyst / Cash Planning Specialist develops cash flow forecasts to support liquidity management and ensure sufficient funding for business obligations. The role involves analyzing expected receipts, payments, working capital movements, and funding requirements to identify potential cash shortfalls or surpluses.
The successful candidate will collaborate with finance, treasury, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and business teams to maintain accurate cash projections and evaluate actual cash flows against forecasts. This position also conducts scenario analysis, explains forecast variances, and provides recommendations that support payment planning and effective cash management.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, economics, business, or a related field.
- Relevant experience in cash flow forecasting, treasury, financial planning, or working capital analysis.
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to assess cash flow patterns and identify liquidity risks.
- Understanding of cash flow statements, working capital, payment cycles, and liquidity management.
- Ability to prepare short- and medium-term cash forecasts, conduct scenario analysis, and investigate forecast variances.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including financial modeling, pivot tables, and lookup functions.
- Familiarity with ERP systems, treasury management systems, Power BI, or similar analytical tools is an advantage.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accurate forecasts, reporting, and confidentiality.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain cash requirements and risks to stakeholders.
- Ability to coordinate inputs from multiple teams, meet forecasting deadlines, and adapt to changing business needs.
- Professional qualifications such as CPA, ACCA, CTP, or equivalent are an advantage.
