To ensure continued compliance across European and international regulatory frameworks, we are seeking an experienced Global Safety Manager in accordance with EASA Part 145 and Part IS, including CAA UK and FAA approval requirements. This position constitutes a key nominated management function with direct access to the Accountable Manager and regular interaction with multiple aviation authorities.

Position overview:

The Safety Manager / Deputy Compliance Monitoring Manager (EASA Part-145) is responsible for establishing, maintaining and continuously monitoring the organisation’s:

  • Safety Management System (SMS)
  • Relevant elements of the Information Security Management System (ISMS)
  • Deputing the Compliance Monitoring Manager during absents

The role ensures full compliance with all applicable EASA, CAA UK and FAA regulatory requirements, providing independent oversight of organisational processes and reporting directly to senior management.

The primary tasks:

operational

  • Ensuring regulatory compliance with Part 145 and Part IS, including certification management and communication with aviation authorities (e.g. CAA, EASA, FAA)
  • Maintaining and further development of the Safety Management System (SMS) and the Information Security Management System (ISMS)
  • Audit management: planning, support and follow up of internal and external audits (authorities, customers, suppliers), including RCA and CAPA management
  • Monitoring of organisation wide processes such as technical documentation, training, competence assessments, authorisations and supplier approvals
  • Reporting and escalation management: preparation of safety and compliance reports, handling of customer complaints and support for the Accountable Manager on safety related issues

strategy & development

  • Planning, organisation, and oversight of safety training activities and the promotion of safety awareness in accordance with EASA Part‑145/Part‑IS requirements
  • Active support, promotion, and continuous improvement of the Safety Management System (SMS), including advising the Accountable Manager and senior management on safety‑related matters
  • Monitoring of aviation safety trends, hazards, and emerging risks, including coordination and communication of safety issues with internal functions and external stakeholders

We seek a team member that can identify with the description below:

  • Practical Aviation Background (Licensed Aircraft Engineer B1 Part 66, Certifying Staff) in Part 145 MRO environment
  • Bachelor in Aerospace or mechanical engineering
  • minimum 5 years of relevant experience in Quality Management including at least two years in a relevant aviation position
  • Deep expertise in compliance management and cooperation with aviation authorities
  • In depth understanding of EASA Part‑145 and SMS regulations
  • Proven experience in technical development, engineering or process improvement within MRO operations
  • Strong leadership, analytical and decision‑making capabilities
  • Ability to operate independently, assertively and with a high degree of integrity
  • Fluent English (business level) and German at native or authority‑interface level

A few practicalities about the job:

  • The position is located in Norderstedt, Germany
  • You should expect 30-40 travel days annually
