ph3Main Purpose /h3pMain Purpose The Compliance department at Trafigura is a global function responsible for ensuring the business operates in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies. The team provides guidance and oversight across the Group's trading, operations, and corporate functions — covering areas including anti-bribery and corruption (ABC), sanctions screening, anti-money laundering (AML), trade controls, and regulatory compliance. Working closely with Legal, Finance, and the business lines, Compliance plays a critical role in managing regulatory risk, maintaining Trafigura's licence to operate, and embedding a strong culture of integrity across the organisation. The Senior Compliance manager will assist the Chief Compliance Officer with all aspects of assessing, monitoring and developing the Trafigura Group Compliance Program to ensure the consistent and robust continuous improvement of the Compliance program. /ph3Knowledge, Skills and Abilities /h3ulliCompliance or law professional with at least 10 years’ relevant experience /liliHands-on experience with sanctions programmes, screenings and interpretation of applicable trade controls /liliExperience in commodities trading and commodity shipping, ideally with significant international and cross border experience /liliShould have extensive experience of all aspects of a corporate compliance program including anti-bribery and corruption, anti-money laundering, trade sanctions, and market abuse. /liliWorking knowledge of European regulatory frameworks, particularly Swiss law, EU, UK, US, Swiss sanctions regimes, and EMIR/MiFID II AML/KYC operational experience in a financial services or trading environment /liliGood IT skills and organisational skills /liliStrong project management skills /liliExcellent command of written and spoken English /liliExperience with Relativity desired /li /ulh3Key Responsibilities /h3ulliReview complex sanctions-related queries and regulatory updates. This involves interpreting applicable sanctions regimes, assessing their relevance to business activities, ensuring trade compliance, and drafting or updating sanctions guidance and policies accordingly. /liliReview escalations related to gifts and entertainment /liliReview complex third party payment issues /liliInvestigating possible breaches of the Code of Business Conduct or other Compliance policies and implementing any required rectification /liliProviding the escalation point for complex / non-standard KYC / AML issues /liliImplementation of Compliance Projects related to Artificial Intelligence /liliTo keep all existing training up to date and develop new training where necessary. /liliCo-ordinate and progress a variety of process / system / policy review and improvement projects. /liliAssist with internal compliance investigation and review /liliCoordinate and assist compliance with internal and external audit /liliCoordinate and assist with the compliance global annual risk review /liliBuild relationships with key relationships departments outlined below /li /ulh3Competencies /h3ulliCommunicates effectively /liliCourage decision quality manages complexity global perspective plans and aligns /li /ulh3Reporting Structure /h3pReporting to the Co-Heads of Compliance /ph3Equal Opportunity Employer /h3pWe are an Equal Opportunity Employer and take pride in a diverse workforce.
