In R&D Stuttgart we are looking for an Technology Engineer (m/f/d) with a focus on AI, digital engineering tools, AI-driven product development, automation of design development steps and parametric product design. In this role you will strengthen our capability to develop scalable engineering solutions that enable faster, more consistent, and data-driven product development across the organization.
Your responsibilities
- Conceptualize and develop product-related engineering applications for Application Engineers, Sales Engineers, and Product Engineers to support harmonized recommendations
- Knowledge transfer and consistent product performance across regions and business units
- Drive the conceptualization and implementation of tailored AI approaches within product development workflows (CAD, CAM, FEA) in close collaboration with Digital Platforms and AI teams to increase engineering efficiency and accelerate innovation
- Advance EHL simulation capabilities for linear sealing systems through automation, streamlined workflows, and the establishment of pre-computed solution spaces for standard products, enabling faster engineering decisions and broader accessibility of advanced simulation methods
- Develop and standardize parametric CAD models for both existing and next-generation products, enabling modular design approaches, faster customization, improved reuse across platforms, and increased engineering productivity
Your profile
- Ph.D. or degree in mechanical engineering
- Surface technology: Theoretical knowledge and practical experience in analyzing surface topographies and evaluating them using numerical methods with regard to sealing function, friction, and wear
- In-depth theoretical knowledge and experience in sealing technology and the functioning of sealing systems
- Knowledge of tribology
- Sealing materials: Application-specific expertise
- Experience in the development of digital engineering tools, as well as knowledge of CAD, FEA, and data-driven or AI-supported development methods
