As a Tax Specialist, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping trivago’s tax strategy—delivering expert consultation to our stakeholders and driving excellence by implementing top-notch practices in our tax accounting processes!
How you’ll make an impact:
- Prepare tax calculations and disclosures in accordance with US GAAP during quarter-end and year-end closing
- Calculate digital services tax and handle the periodic filing of digital services tax returns
- Perform tax-related SOX controls
- Provide tax consultation for internal and trivago stakeholders with a particular focus on international tax
- Coordinate work streams with external consultants
- Perform tax-related SOX controls
- Provide support during tax audits
What you\’ll need to thrive:
- A bachelor\’s degree or diploma in taxation, finance, accounting or qualified accountant/tax clerk (Bilanzbuchhalter/Steuerfachangestellter)
- 2-3 years’ experience in international tax with a knowledge of tax regulations and accounting
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- Experience with US GAAP & performing SOX controls
- The ability to multitask while completing tasks accurately and in a timely manner
- Keen attention to details and problem-solving skills
- A positive ‘can do’ attitude and eagerness to take responsibility for projects and processes assigned
- Great communication skills in English (our company language)
