In this role, you will be responsible for the safety-related support of the plant in accordance with the Occupational Safety Act (SiFa Activity) as well as the coordination of internal and external requirements for occupational safety, health, and environmental protection. You will also be responsible for maintaining, monitoring, and further developing the respective management systems in accordance with the requirements of the relevant standards and guidelines.
Responsibilities:
- Supporting and advising employers, managers, the management system officer, and employees at the site on occupational health and safety, accident prevention, and all questions of occupational health and safety, including the humane design of work.
- Creation of safety-related concepts for the monitoring of buildings, systems, and processes/workflows.
- Safety-related consulting in the planning, execution, and maintenance of operating facilities (including IT), buildings, social and sanitary facilities, as well as in the design of workplaces/work processes.
- Procurement of technical work equipment, including PPE.
- Regular inspection of the site with evaluation/reporting of the results.
- Carrying out accident investigations/structured accident analyses including 8D Analysis or similar methods.
- Updating and maintaining databases, e.g., TRIMS for documenting HSSE key figures, accident analyses, and measures.
- Monitoring compliance with legal and intra-group frameworks, monitoring changes in these frameworks.
- Promotion and improvement of standards in the AMS/EMS, including the development and support of risk assessments, risk analyses, and determination of environmental aspects.
- Cooperation with the company doctor.
- Responsibility for the organisation of safety officers, first aiders, and fire protection assistants in the company in accordance with requirements.
- Training and instruction of employees.
- Leading working groups and participating/chairing in-site as well as national and international meetings.
Requirements:
- Completed engineering studies, master craftsman training, or technician in a metalworking profession, with several years of professional experience in the metalworking industry.
- Training as a safety specialist (SiFa, Sicherheitsfachkraft).
- Previous experience as a safety officer.
- Knowledge of structured working and analysis methods.
- Strong communication skills and assertiveness.
- Initiative and commitment.
- Very good written and spoken English.
