We are seeking an experimental scientist with strong expertise in preclinical cardiovascular research to support the development of novel therapeutic approaches for cardiovascular diseases. The position is based at TRON in the Department of Cardiovascular Therapeutics. You will plan, perform, and analyze preclinical studies evaluating novel RNA-based therapeutics and nanoparticle formulations for cardiovascular diseases. Your work will combine in vitro studies with relevant in vivo disease models, particularly atherosclerosis and myocardial infarction. You will contribute to the characterization of therapeutic efficacy and mechanisms of action and work closely with other scientists in a highly collaborative and translational research environment of TRON and curATime (Cluster for Atherothrombosis and Individualized Medicine), a Clusters4Future initiative funded by the German Federal Ministry of Research, Technology and Space (BMFTR). You hold a PhD in cardiovascular biology, molecular biology, biomedical sciences, or a related field and have strong hands‑on experience with animal experimentation, which is essential for this position. Experience with mouse models of atherosclerosis and/or myocardial infarction is strongly preferred. Expertise in complementary methods such as cell culture, flow cytometry, histology, microscopy, or molecular biology is advantageous. We are looking for a scientist who works independently and precisely, enjoys collaborative research, and has a strong interest in translating novel therapeutic concepts toward preclinical application. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.
