We are recruiting multiple experienced API 5L / SAWL Pipe Inspectors for a major oil & gas line-pipe manufacturing project in Hattingen, Germany.
The assignment will involve inspection of heavy-wall SAWL/LSAW line pipe during manufacture, with a particular focus on production quality, welding/NDT and dimensional verification.
Key responsibilities
- Monitor and inspect line-pipe manufacturing activities
- Inspect pipe forming processes
- Carry out welding inspection and monitor NDT activities
- Perform dimensional inspection of manufactured pipe
- Verify pipe-end dimensions and final product condition
- Review relevant manufacturing, inspection and quality documentation
- Identify and report deviations from project specifications and applicable standards
- Work alongside manufacturing and quality teams to ensure compliance with inspection requirements
Key requirements
- Previous experience with API 5L or ISO 3183 line pipe
- Strong experience with SAWL / LSAW / longitudinal SAW pipe
- Previous pipe-mill or pipe-manufacturing inspection experience
- Knowledge of welding inspection and NDT
- Experience with dimensional inspection
- Heavy-wall line-pipe experience preferred
- Experience with JCOE / UOE pipe forming advantageous
- Previous third-party, vendor or client inspection experience preferred
- Manufacturer-side QA/QC inspectors with strong SAWL/LSAW production experience will also be considered
- Must be comfortable working 2nd or 3rd shifts

- Duration: Approx. 5–6 months
- Rate: Up to €40/hour, all inclusive
- Working pattern: 2nd / 3rd shift
