About the role

Our client is building the software that runs Pick workcells — the \"brain\"that drives real robots picking hundreds of customer orders an hour on live warehousefloors at global scale. You will deliver features, improvements, and fixes across theorchestration, perception, and manipulation services that make a cell work - thereliability layer that keeps it running through fault recovery, and the cloudobservability that lets us operate the fleet.

This is production robotics on real hardware, not simulation. Your code ships to cellsthat pick and place real items, in real time, at human-like pace.

What you will do:

• Deliver features, improvements, and fixes in the Sortation Orchestrator — the workflow engine and state machine that coordinates every component of the cell.
• Work on robot motion and gripper control — plan and execute reliable pick-and-place motions on real hardware.
• Integrate perception into production — make vision based methods robust andreliable on the cell.
• Instrument and operate the fleet on AWS — CloudWatch metrics, alarms and dashboards; AWS CDK infrastructure-as-code; S3, logs and IAM for serviceoperations.
• Carry on-call for a live fleet: read logs, diagnose faults, ship hotfixes, and hardenthe system against the next failure.

Must-have qualifications

• Robot / industrial-automation integration experience — one of the following:robotics, computer vision, or networked automation systems — real robot arms (URor equivalent).
• Distributed multi-service systems, and the reliability engineering around it: recovery, timeouts, race conditions, idempotent commands, hang prevention.
• AWS for production operations — CloudWatch (metrics, alarms, dashboards),AWS CDK (infrastructure-as-code), and service plumbing (S3, logs, IAM). You caninstrument and operate a live service in an AWS account, not just consume it.
• Deep CI / integration-test experience on hardware-in-the-loop systems.
• Confident taking responsibility for production software: logs, hotfixes, on-call,recovery hardening.

Nice to have

• Has worked with soft-PLCs (Codesys), gripper and conveyor control.
