This position is accountable for the performance and P&L in Germany, with success measured by enhancing widespread patient access to our client’s innovations.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Execute the strategic plan for the commercialization of our client’s key product in the space of rare neurological disease (as well as future products) in Germany.
  2. Recruit, hire, and ensure training for country specific staff who will execute the commercial plan in Germany.
  3. Aggressively drive the development of our client’s business, establishing growth and profit expectation and ensuring effective financial planning.
  4. Establish market sales and resource forecasts, and also initiate relevant market research projects to support the strategic brand planning process.
  5. Identify, develop, propose and execute local reimbursement strategies including adaptation and communication of the value story to key local stakeholders.
  6. Maximize the commercial potential of our client’s assets through the development and implementation of strategic marketing plans in collaboration with Regional/Global Marketing and Medical Affairs.
  7. Establish strong and optimal relationships with external bodies (Payers, Patient Associations, and KOLs) as relevant.
  8. Foster an environment of strong collaboration across the local, regional and global organization, balancing the needs of our client in Germany with those of the company more broadly.
  9. Serve as point person responsible for managing and optimizing local partnerships and provide commercial input for business development opportunities.
  10. Ensure that all business activities are in line with company policies, procedures and local guidelines.
  11. Facilitate market learning and knowledge sharing to accelerate the commercialization of our client’s key product and future products throughout EMEA.
  12. Drive a high-performance culture by fostering innovation, customer focus, personal accountability and commitment for results.

Professional Experience

The successful candidate for the position of General Manager Germany will be a recognized biopharmaceutical leader who is naturally autonomous and a self-starter. Moreover, it is important that the individual appointed identifies with the strong values of our client and feels a personal commitment to the fulfillment of patient needs.

Specifically, He/she Will Possess The Following

  1. Undergraduate degree required, MBA and/or post graduate preferred.
  2. Demonstrable and meaningful commercial leadership experience in the German biopharmaceutical industry, either as a General Manager/Country Manager currently or a BU Director within the specialty therapeutics arena. Some experience of the German consumer healthcare market could also be beneficial.
  3. Successful track record of overseeing product launches in Germany, preferably with more than one product and encompassing specialty therapeutics.
  4. Demonstrable involvement in access and reimbursement strategies and execution, with the ability to shape and articulate the value story of specialty therapeutics.

  12. Excellent written and oral communication skills, including strong formal presentation skills.
  13. Entrepreneurial and innovative spirit.
  14. Learning agile and ‘scalable’ to take on increasing responsibility as our client grows.
