Overview
In this role you lead cost management for complex construction projects, acting as the primary interface with clients and guiding teams to deliver accurate cost planning and commercial management. You will own pre- and post-contract cost activities, manage procurement and value engineering, and ensure timely cost reporting. The position sits at the intersection of client delivery and advisory excellence, shaping project outcomes and financial performance. You will work closely with cross-functional stakeholders to drive opportunities and improvements in cost processes.
Verantwortungsbereiche
- Provide estimate and cost planning, including presenting final estimates
- Estimate at conceptual, programming and detailed levels
- Compile feasibility studies
- Prepare procurement reports and manage procurement processes (pre-qualification, tender lists, tender analysis, tender report, contractual documents)
- Manage post-contract cost variances and change control
- Oversee cost checks and valuations on large projects for timely, accurate delivery
- Produce monthly cost reports and present to clients
- Lead value engineering initiatives and negotiate settlements of final accounts
- Maintain liaison with clients and other consultants across project stages
- Provide leadership to cost management teams and ensure delivery of services
- Identify opportunities to develop new business opportunities
- Identify and implement improvements for cost management procedures, templates, and products
Zentrale Anforderungen
- Degree in Quantity Surveying, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field
- Minimum of 10 years' experience in cost management
- Experience leading cost management commissions on large, highly complex construction projects
- Knowledge of procurement routes, value management and life cycle costing
- People management experience in leading a project-delivery team
- Technical expertise across pre-contract, post-contract and final account
- Strong understanding of mechanical, process, electrical, plumbing systems and civil/structural/architectural aspects
- Experience in the German construction industry with knowledge of contractual documentation (advantageous)
- English required; German preferred
- Excellent presentation, verbal and written communication skills
- Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task and be a team player
- Proficiency in MS Office and modern cost management digital tools
