As a System Architect, you play a leading technical role in the development of advanced positioning solutions. Leveraging your deep expertise in GNSS technologies, you derive system architectures and technical solution concepts from stakeholder and product requirements.You define system structures, interfaces, requirements, and technical concepts across disciplines and collaborate with component architects to ensure a coherent overall system architecture. You facilitate architectural decisions, evaluate technical trade-offs, and ensure alignment between business objectives, customer requirements, and implementation constraints.Throughout development, integration, and verification, you provide technical guidance and ensure consistency between requirements, architecture, and delivered functionality.You ensure that system-level architecture concepts are grounded in GNSS application needs and positioning use cases, so that hardware, software, and platform decisions deliver clear product value.This position reports to the director of platform system architecture and can be located in Thalwil, Switzerland or Tampere, Finland.Your Responsibilities:Derive system requirements from stakeholder and product requirementsLead and contribute to the creation, evaluation, and maintenance of technical solution concepts and system architectures.Define system-level requirements, interfaces, and performance budgetsConduct trade-off analyses and technical feasibility assessmentsAlign architectural decisions with stakeholders and development teamsGuide component architects and ensure architectural consistency across subsystemsSupport implementation, integration, verification, and validation activitiesIdentify technical risks and propose mitigation strategiesSecondary Tasks:Support product, technology, and platform roadmap definitionContribute to the evaluation of emerging GNSS technologies and positioning methodsParticipate in industry collaborations, standardization activities, and technical forumsLiaise with external stakeholders, operators, consultants, and research organizationsContribute to the definition and continuous improvement of systems engineering processes, methods, and toolsSupport innovation initiatives and technical feasibility studiesYour Skills and Experience:Master's degree, PhD, or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Telecommunications, Geodesy or related field.Strong and broad GNSS knowledge, including applicationsStrong knowledge of systems engineering and architecture methodologiesExperience in requirements engineering and technical specification developmentProven analytical and problem-solving skillsSelf-driven, structured, and capable of working independently in complex technical environmentsStrong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence technical decisions across organizational boundariesWillingness for occasional travelFluent in English, both written and spoken.
