About the Position: This position is with the Defense Health Agency, Wiesbaden Health Clinic, Family Medicine Service, Located in Wiesbaden Germany.

Duties

  • Provide assistance and guidance to clinical staff, demonstrating proper procedures to users.
  • Coordinate or participates in development of training and conducts training for serviced personnel to ensure automated systems are used to the fullest extent.
  • Develop systems to compile and analyze statistical data to assess program effectiveness.
  • Interpret raw data and compiles management reports for clinic leadership and command group.
  • Establish priority for program implementation and approval based upon the various program/project needs.
  • Integrate all operational components and ensure coordination with and input from appropriate clinical and administrative activities.
  • Incumbent directly supervises the Medical Support Assistant staff and Referral Management staff assigned to the clinic.
  • Works with the clinic leadership to ensure appropriate courtesies are afforded to patients and visitors to resolve their complaints and needs.

  • This position is subject to screening and update of required immunizations.
  • This position has a mandatory seasonal influenza vaccination requirement and is therefore subject to annual season influenza vaccinations in accordance with Assistant Secretary of Defense -Health Affairs Policy 08-055.
  • This position requires a one-year probation to assess your ability to perform supervisory duties unless previously completed.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience:
One year of specialized experience which includes assisting staff at a Medical Treatment Facility (MTF) in formulating clinic goals regarding issues such as access, volume, patient demand, provider productivity, patient satisfaction, and staffing. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09).
OR
Education:
Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree with a major study in hospital administration, public health administration, or related fields such as business or public administration with course work in health care administration. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.)
OR
Combination of Education and Experience:
A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of education beyond two years (total semester hours minus 60) by 60.
