Mission We are seeking a skilled and experienced Database Administrator (DBA) to join our team in Geneva. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of successfully installing, managing, and maintaining database systems. This role requires a proactive individual with a strong technical background, excellent problem‑solving skills, and a commitment to ensuring the security, performance, and reliability of our database infrastructure. Experience with Data Guard and RMAN is highly desirable, and familiarity with data lake implementation is a plus.
Key Responsibilities Database Administration
Install, configure, monitor, and maintain database systems, including Oracle, Sybase, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, and MongoDB.
Perform database troubleshooting, including performance tuning, technical issue resolution, and backup/restore operations.
Manage and administer corporate data to ensure consistency, accessibility, and security.
Define and implement technical database architectures, including clustering, replication, and high‑availability solutions.
Provide database support for development teams, ensuring optimal performance and scalability of applications.
Contribute to the design and implementation of data lake solutions (preferred but not mandatory).
Security & Compliance
Adhere to and enforce the organization’s security framework, ensuring compliance with established policies and procedures.
Maintain a strong awareness of security best practices to protect the organization from vulnerabilities and potential exploits.
Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure database systems align with security and compliance requirements.
Collaboration & Innovation
Work closely with cross‑functional teams to support business objectives and deliver high‑quality database solutions.
Stay updated on emerging database technologies and trends, recommending improvements to existing systems and processes.
Experience Skills & Experience
Minimum of 3+ years of hands‑on experience in database administration.
Proven expertise in managing and optimizing Sybase, Oracle, and SQL Server databases.
Experience with Data Guard and RMAN is highly desirable.
Experience in data lake implementation is a plus.
Technical Skills
Proficiency in database management tools and technologies, including DataGuard, RMAN, PostgreSQL, and MongoDB.
Strong knowledge of database performance tuning, backup and recovery strategies, and high‑availability solutions.
Familiarity with database security best practices and compliance standards.
Soft Skills
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
Results‑oriented mindset with a focus on delivering high‑quality solutions.
