Overview The UK Mission in Geneva is looking to hire TWO outstanding interns - one in our Disarmament team and one in our Health team.
Disarmament Intern This internship is an opportunity to gain direct experience in providing policy, research and administrative support to the Disarmament team. The internship combines meeting participation, analytical monitoring and operational coordination.
Roles and responsibilities:
Policy & Meeting Support (25%)
Attend and report on meetings of the Conference on Disarmament and other major arms control treaties
Draft concise, accurate summaries highlighting key developments, positions, and outcomes
Support preparation for meetings and events on disarmament and related issues
Research & Monitoring (25%)
Monitor academic, NGO, and online discussions on disarmament and arms control
Identify and summarise relevant insights for the team
Deliver short research tasks on emerging policy themes
Administration & Operations (50%)
Manage the team’s general inbox and triage enquiries
Support logistics for meetings and side events
Coordinate with the Press and Public Affairs team on communications
Provide general administrative support to ensure smooth team delivery.
Health Intern As our
Health Intern , you won’t just observe, you’ll contribute. You’ll support the UK delegation’s work with the United Nations, particularly the
World Health Organization (WHO) , gaining first-hand experience of how global health policy is negotiated and delivered.
Roles and responsibilities:
Monitoring WHO and UN meetings, negotiations, press conferences, and events
Drafting clear, concise reports and circulating them to UK Government policy leads
Supporting the planning and delivery of health-related events and high-level visits
Managing and triaging the Health Team inbox, ensuring information reaches the right stakeholders
Providing general administrative support to keep the team running smoothly
Getting involved in corporate activities across the Mission (e.g. major events such as the King’s Birthday Party).
