Who will you join?
The Accounting Hub, as part of Group Accounting and Reporting (H2), is a central provider of accounting functions for Allianz entities in Germany and worldwide. We deliver a wide range of financial services and act as the center of competence for investment accounting, subledger accounting, closing & reporting for insurance and non-insurance entities, and the maintenance and development of our financial systems.
The Finance Systems Overarching team is responsible for operating and maintaining core finance and accounting applications across a number of OEs. The team plays a critical role in shaping the future finance landscape and is deeply embedded in the Group initiative SimpliFi.
This position is a key driver in ensuring that complex finance requirements are translated into robust and scalable technology solutions. It is a high-accountability role for a proven expert who thrives in complex, cross-functional environments and takes personal ownership of outcomes.
How can you make an impact?
You will be expected to own your remit entirely, act on your own initiative, and deliver sustainable outcomes. Specifically, you will:
- Define, drive, and deliver financial solutions and optimized end-to-end processes in close collaboration with all stakeholders — business, IT, and service providers — while holding yourself accountable for the quality and timeliness of outcomes
- Enable smooth decision-making and transparency through rigorous documentation
- Ensure robust testing strategies are applied for all solutions delivered under your area of responsibility
- Define and set up automated closing processes in relevant finance systems across OEs under team responsibility; own the resolution of errors and issues during the closing cycle, including escalation where necessary
- Review audit findings relating to financial applications and processes, identify viable courses of action, and drive implementation of mitigating measures — not delegate them
- Provide support for complex issues in relevant ERP systems, including cross-module and cross-system scenarios; deliver sustainable long-term solutions alongside short-term fixes, and ensure the documentation of both
- Lead project streams within your area of expertise
- Act as a subject‑matter expert for the Group initiative SimpliFi, covering the data model, technical accounting data flows, and closing processes
- Establish and own OE operational processes under SimpliFi team responsibility, which requires you:
- Understand both technical configuration and the underlying finance processes in depth
- Design and align new processes in line with global strategy, proactively identifying harmonization opportunities, improvement potential, and AI applicability across different OEs and systems
What are you made of?

- Deep, practical knowledge of SAP Accounting (R/3 or S/4HANA), including system logic, cross-module dependencies, and the ability to navigate and interpret configuration and customising
- Analytical Thinking and Numeracy: Ability to identify patterns and root causes in complex (e.g. ambiguous, from various sources) data and processes to rapidly distil key issues and provide insight in various situations

- Demonstrated experience managing or leading within project environments, including stakeholder management, timeline ownership, and delivery accountability
- Communication and Presentation Skills: Ability to understand, elaborate and convey information clearly and effectively, adapting to the audience at all levels of the organisation, both verbally and in writing
