A manufacturing company is seeking a hands-on manufacturing operations consultant to implement productivity improvements at an assembly facility in Germany.
The consultant will work directly with plant teams to implement operational improvements, increase factory efficiency, and improve output. This is an execution-focused role, requiring the consultant to drive changes on the factory floor rather than conduct a diagnostic or primarily develop recommendations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement manufacturing productivity and operational improvement initiatives directly on the factory floor
- Work closely with plant leadership and frontline teams to improve overall factory efficiency and output
- Apply lean manufacturing and process improvement approaches to optimize assembly operations
- Identify and address operational bottlenecks that are limiting productivity
- Improve shop-floor processes, workflows, and material flow
- Translate improvement opportunities into practical actions and drive implementation
- Support plant teams in adopting new processes and ways of working
- Track progress of improvement initiatives and adjust implementation approaches as needed
- Help ensure operational improvements are practical, sustainable, and embedded into day-to-day plant operations
Qualifications:
- Demonstrated experience implementing manufacturing productivity and operational improvements on the factory floor (required)
- Experience in heavy equipment, capital equipment, or similar assembly-based manufacturing environments (required)
- Strong understanding of manufacturing operations and assembly processes
- Experience with lean manufacturing and process improvement (preferred)
- Track record of translating operational improvement opportunities into hands-on implementation
- Comfortable working directly with plant leadership, supervisors, and frontline manufacturing teams
- Strong problem-solving skills with a practical, execution-oriented approach
