About the Job
United Micro is actively looking for a skilled Senior Firmware Engineer, 5G Layer 1 Control to join our Design Center in Dresden, Germany, where you will be working on cutting-edge Cellular Modem PHY.
Your Responsibilities
As a Senior Firmware Engineer – 5G Layer 1 Control, you will be responsible for:
- Designing and implementing 5G NR cellular modem L1 Control Firmware, including schedulers
- Implementing various 3GPP features
- Optimizing software performance to meet real-time processing requirements
- Architecture and definition of L1 Firmware interfaces towards Protocol Stack
- Collaborating with cross-functional team members, including Systems Engineering and Protocol Stack
Your Profile
- You should be proficient in embedded C and C++ programming and software architectures
- Good understanding of 3GPP 5G NR L1/L3 standards is required
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Masters/PhD in Computer Science/Electrical Engineering or equivalent is preferred
- 5+ years of work experience in a relevant field
- Ability to excel both independently and within a team environment
