Background:
UN Women, grounded in the vision of equality enshrined in the Charter of the United Nations, works for the elimination of discrimination against women and girls; the empowerment of women; and the achievement of equality between women and men as partners and beneficiaries of development, human rights, humanitarian action and peace and security.
In partnership with governments and national institutions, UN Women supports the development of effective, accountable and inclusive public institutions that advance transparency, participation and equality, in line with Sustainable Development Goal 16.
In Lebanon, strengthening effective, accountable and inclusive public institutions remains central to the country's governance reform agenda. In this context, the Government of Lebanon, through the Office of the Minister of State for Administrative Reform (OMSAR), has established the National Governance Program for Public Boards and Leadership (NGP) to strengthen the capacities of newly appointed and existing public board members and senior public officials. As part of its partnership with OMSAR, UN Women is supporting the development and delivery of selected executive learning modules under the NGP, ensuring that they reflect international governance standards while integrating principles of gender equality, disability inclusion and inclusive governance within the Lebanese institutional context.
To support the effective implementation of UN Women’s contribution to the programme, UN Women seeks to recruit a Programme Coordination and Support to OMSAR – National Consultant to facilitate coordination and follow-up between UN Women and OMSAR in the framework of the Executive Learning Modules of the NGP developed jointly by OMSAR and UN Women.
