SEO Specialist & Writer (German Speaker) m/w/d in Mannheim

Overview

Aptean is seeking a German-speaking SEO Writer and Specialist to join our global Digital Marketing team. In this combined role, you will own both SEO and content for our German-language websites, including GermanEdge and RS Soft. You will plan what we publish through keyword research and competitor analysis, then write and optimise the blogs, articles and web pages that deliver it. Based at our JobRouter office in Mannheim, you will work close to the business you support. You will be part of our global SEO team, reporting directly to the SEO Lead, with responsibility for restoring organic growth across our German-language sites. This position is ideal for someone who combines strong SEO skills with excellent German writing and an understanding of the DACH B2B market.

Key Responsibilities

• German SEO Planning: Own the organic search plan for our German-language sites, in line with our wider SEO strategy and business goals.

• Keyword and Competitor Research: Carry out German-language keyword, competitor and content gap analysis for the DACH market, and turn it into a content plan.

• Content Writing: Write blogs, articles, landing pages and other web content in German, optimised for search and conversion.

• Content Refresh: Update and improve existing German content so it stays accurate, relevant and competitive in search.

• Localisation: Localise and transcreate English content into natural, market-appropriate German, rather than direct translation.

• On-Page Optimisation: Optimise page titles, meta descriptions, headings and internal linking across the German sites.

• AI and Search Visibility: Monitor and improve how our brands appear in German search results and AI-generated answers.

• Technical SEO: Identify technical SEO issues, including hreflang and multilingual setup, and work with the WordPress Developer to fix them.

• Performance Reporting: Track rankings, organic traffic and conversions for the German sites and report on progress.

• Collaboration: Work closely with the local JobRouter business, product marketing, regional marketing and the wider digital team.

About You

• Fluent German Speaker: You have at least C1-level proficiency in German, preferably C2, along with excellent written German and professional English.

• SEO Experience: You have proven experience delivering organic growth for German-language websites, ideally in B2B or software.

• Strong Writer: You write clear, engaging German content for business and technical audiences, and can share published examples.

• Research Skills: You are skilled at keyword research, competitor analysis and turning data into a content plan.

• Technical Understanding: You understand technical SEO, including multilingual and hreflang setup, and can brief developers clearly.

• Localisation Skills: You know how to adapt content so it reads naturally for a DACH audience.

• Tools: You are comfortable with tools such as Google Search Console, GA4 and a major SEO platform such as Semrush.

• AI Search Aware: You follow how AI search is changing organic visibility and are keen to adapt your approach.

• Independent and Proactive: You manage your own plan from research to publication and take ownership of results.
