Position Summary

This position is housed in the UNCG School of Education (SOE) Institute for Partnerships in Education. The IPiE Project Manager will provide administrative leadership and programmatic support for the Institute. Specific responsibilities include:

  • Coordinating multiple programs and initiatives among campus and external partners;
  • Developing and refining procedures for managing daily operations of the Institute;
  • Overseeing budgets, hiring, and payments;
  • Developing and maintaining organization databases and digital systems including websites and social media;
  • Communicating with campus and community partners in writing and orally.

The IPiE Project Manager position will be responsible for the day-to-day coordination of Institute activities and serve as the point of contact for all inquiries and communication regarding its programs and initiatives. They will be responsible for establishing and refining standard operating procedures and creating an efficient flow of operations for the Institute. The person in this position is expected to use considerable judgment to perform work responsibilities and must be able to work independently with limited direct supervision, and in collaboration with multiple stakeholders including Institute leaders, faculty, staff, students, UNCG central office, and external partners.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.

Preferred Qualifications

One (1) to two (2) years in an academic setting with knowledge of Banner Finance and Banner HR; Strong communication, organization, planning, and computer skills (word processing, spreadsheets, WordPress, databases); Ability to work independently, and in collaboration with multiple stakeholders including faculty, staff, students, UNCG central office, and community partners and their organizations.

Key Responsibilities

Institute Administration

  • Become knowledgeable of the Institute's objectives, initiatives, and programs and relationships among them.
  • Manage multiple programs and projects and provide leadership to Institute staff.
  • Independently plan for Institute needs in advance, create internal systems and documents that align with those needs.
  • Serve as the point of contact for the Institute, including fielding questions from faculty, staff, students, and partner organizations.

Information/Records Administration

  • Collect data, prepare reports (fiscal and programmatic), and develop recommendations.
  • Create and maintain databases for partnerships, projects, and Institute programs.

Fiscal and Budgetary Management

  • Maintain accurate accounting/budget records for multiple projects, contracts, and grants.
  • Process expenditures and reconcile Institute funds monthly.
  • Prepare/request budget transfers and journal vouchers as needed.

Communication

  • Maintain collaborative work relationships with Institute staff, faculty, staff, students, and partner organizations.
  • Independently compose and disseminate professional email correspondence.
  • Prepare written materials, presentations, etc. to disseminate information about Institute programs and partnership activities.
