Role Description
As a Senior Software Engineer / E-Commerce Consultant, you will design and implement robust e-commerce and digital solutions, collaborating closely with clients and internal teams to translate business requirements into scalable technical architectures. You will work on backend and frontend development, integration of commerce platforms, performance optimization, and security best practices, as well as support project planning and technical decision-making. A key part of the role includes advising clients on e-commerce strategy, evaluating tools and frameworks, and ensuring solutions align with data sovereignty and open-source principles. This is a full-time, hybrid role based in Zurich, Switzerland, with a mix of on-site collaboration and work-from-home flexibility.
Qualifications
- Must: Strong web engineering skills with experience in modern backend and frontend technologies, frameworks, and APIs.
- Solid understanding of cloud, hosting, and data security, ideally with experience in Swiss or European data protection environments.
- Proficiency with open-source technologies and collaborative development workflows.
- Ability to analyze business requirements, create technical concepts, and communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience working in agile teams, with strong problem-solving skills and a proactive, self-organized work style.
- Beneficial: Hands-on expertise in e-commerce platforms, payment integration, and digital commerce workflows, including consulting on best practices.
- Beneficial: Experience with AI-driven solutions, microservices architectures, and performance optimization for high-traffic e-commerce sites.
