The Emmy Noether Junior Research Group “Smoothings from log resolutions and applications” at the Institute of Algebraic Geometry welcomes applications for the following position starting April 1, 2027 (October 1, 2027 at the latest): Postdoc Position in Algebraic Geometry (salary scale 13 TV-L, 100 %)

The position is for a duration of 24 months.

Your role

The successful candidate will conduct independent research in Algebraic Geometry within the Emmy Noether Junior Research Group “Smoothings from log resolutions and applications”.

Experience in any of the following topics is welcome, but not required:

  • Toric, tropical, or logarithmic geometry
  • Singularity and deformation theory
  • Mirror symmetry

There is considerable flexibility in the precise research direction, and candidates with related interests in Algebraic Geometry are strongly encouraged to apply.

Who are we looking for?

Candidates should have completed a university degree in Mathematics and have a strong background in Algebraic Geometry. In addition, a relevant completed PhD is desirable.
