Your mission
You are a dynamic and results‑driven Mechatronics / Electromechanical Technician (Connected Mobility and Telematics Systems) reporting to the Head of Product, leading the assembly, integration, testing, and deployment of OIQ’s mobile asset telematics system solutions across automotive, transport/logistics, and agricultural environments. This role blends mechanical integration, electrical systems, and communication technology, ideal for a technician who thrives at the intersection of hardware, field deployment, and connected mobility, delivering exceptional customer experiences aligned to the company’s strategic and innovative direction.
Across Design and Integration
- Assemble and integrate telematics devices, antennas, and sensors onto vehicles, trailers, and agricultural machinery;
- Support mechanical and electrical layout of telematics enclosures, harnesses, and connectors for rugged outdoor conditions (dust, vibration, temperature, moisture);
- Integrate GNSS, LTE/4G/5G, NB‑IoT, LoRa, BLE, and satellite NTN modems into mobile platforms;
- Conduct bench testing and field trials to validate communication links and mechanical robustness.
Across Testing and Validation
- Execute RF and connectivity validation for hybrid TN/NTN links under real‑world mobility conditions;
- Perform environmental and mechanical testing: vibration, temperature cycling, ingress protection, and shock;
- Use lab instrumentation (spectrum analyzer, multimeter, data logger) to measure signal performance and verify installations;
- Develop and maintain test procedures, fixtures, and diagnostic tools for deployment QA.
Across Deployment and Support
- Install and commission telematics systems on commercial vehicles, agricultural machines, and logistics assets;
- Work with fleet operators to optimize antenna placement, cable routing, and power integration;
- Support firmware teams by capturing field telemetry and diagnosing connectivity or sensor issues;
- Document installation schematics, cable drawings, and site test reports.
Across Continuous Improvement
- Provide feedback to design and manufacturing teams to enhance system durability and ease of installation;
- Contribute to root‑cause analysis of field issues (connectivity, power, mechanical stress);
- Recommend and qualify component or supplier improvements for rugged mobile environments.
Your profile
Qualifications:
Required:
- Degree, diploma, or equivalent experience in Mechatronics, Electromechanical Engineering, Automotive Electronics, or similar field;

- Knowledge with tools such as Jira, Confluence, Outline, GitHub, Microsoft Suite;
- Knowledge of underlying technology stack, APIs, and end‑to‑end architectural components;
- Solid and confident ability handling ambiguity in fast‑paced environment;
- Fluent in German and English;
- Currently based in Munich (or soon to be relocating to);
- German driver’s license.
Preferred:
- Experience with GNSS, LTE/4G/5G, NB‑IoT, LoRa, and satellite (NTN) communications such as Iridium, Inmarsat, OneWeb, Starlink, AST Space Mobile or emerging 5G‑NTN modems;
- Knowledge of RF design principles, antenna placement, and electromagnetic compatibility in vehicle contexts;
- Familiarity with agricultural and fleet management systems (CAN, ISOBUS, J1939);
- Use of CAD (SolidWorks/Fusion 360) and electrical design software (Altium, KiCad, or similar);
- Demonstrated ability to work in lab and field settings: from bench prototype development and integration (parts soldering and integration, end‑to‑end testing, unit and system‑level rework) to tractor, truck and / or off‑road construction vehicle integration.
Personal Attributes:
- Practical, resourceful, and methodical: a true hands‑on builder and problem solver;
- Comfortable collaborating with multidisciplinary teams (mechanical, RF, Cloud, firmware, and field operations);
- Clear, precise communicator: able to write concise test reports and installation instructions;
