We are currently recruiting for a Data Protection Specialist to sit within our European Information Security Team. This role will report into the Data Privacy Manager and be based in our offices in Berlin, Germany.
This highly collaborative role will support across our European markets and work closely with internal departments in both Germany and Poland as well as Global and Regional Information Security Officers.
This is an excellent opportunity for a data protection, legal or compliance professional to step into a key subject matter expert role, supporting our teams across Germany and Poland. You will play an important part in providing practical guidance for the business, so we are looking for someone who can communicate clearly, build strong relationships and deliver engaging training and support to colleagues across different functions.
What you will be responsible for:
Supporting data protection and AI programs of the Fast Retailing Group, led by Data Protection Officer (DPO).
Acting as the point of contact of business departments, support functions and management on data protection matters.
Educating and training employees on data protection and AI compliance responsibilities and obligations.
Identifying, raising and addressing risk areas of data protection in internal operations and projects.
Manage data protection related incidents.
Assisting stakeholders to conduct DPIAs. Review and follow up of resulting recommended action plans.
Conduct privacy checks and ensure that the data protection requirements are respected in our internal processes.
Manage the data subjects' rights.
Implement actions to ensure compliance with relevant information management policies and data protection laws.
Collaborate with members of Information Security Office team supporting the business teams to conduct assessments of partners and projects in order to evaluate the risks for our customers and company, assess the gap with our security and privacy policy requirements and follow remediations until completion.
Skills, Experience and Attributes:
More than 4 years' experience in data protection, compliance or legal.
Extensive knowledge of data protection and AI laws and practices.
Ability to reflect legal requirements to activities/operational procedures.
Excellent communication skills: verbal and written German and English are essential, Polish is desirable.
Ability to prioritise work effectively.
Highly motivated self-starter with ability to work independently and within a team.
Strong sense of ownership and driven to manage tasks to completion.
Strong capabilities on reporting activities.
Cyber security technical background is a plus.
Appropriate privacy and technical and/or security certifications preferred. (e.g. CIPP/E, CIPM, AIGP, etc.)
