Research fellow/Postdoc (m/f/d) in the field of Finance limited until - E 13 TV-L HUHumboldt-Universität zu Berlin is one of the eleven Universities of Excellence in Germany.
The Finance Group, consisting among others of the chairs of Corporate Finance (Prof. Tim Adam) , Financial Intermediation (Prof. Max Bruche) , and Financial Economics (Prof. Alex Stomper ), is dedicated to conducting rigorous and relevant research, publishing in leading academic journals, and providing students with a broad education in the main areas of finance, such as corporate finance, financial intermediation, and asset management. For the postdoctoral fellowship we invite applications from outstanding recent graduates from non-German universities irrespective of nationality who seek to gain academic experiences in Germany. The strongest candidates will be those whose research interests closely align with those of Faculty of Economics and Business Administration at Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin and for whom both the postdoc and the faculty member can foresee developing joint research projects.
The successful candidate will be provided with ample time to advance his/her individual research agenda, and access to standard databases through Wharton Research Data Services (WRDS). During the fellowship the postdoc will gain inside knowledge of the German university system, and obtain experiences in raising research funding from German government agencies.
- scientific service in teaching and research at the Department of Corporate Finance (teaching in the area of corporate finance or related area)
- conduct own research projects and collaborate with Faculty of Economics and Business Administration at Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin on developing new research projects
Requirements
- completed scientific university education and PhD in finance from a non-German university
- occupational experience as postdoc at a university
- research interests in corporate finance
- excellent econometrics and programming skills (Stata or R)
- experiences with databasesproficiency in English (at least C1-equivalent)
- knowledge of German is advantageous but not required
