Organizational Context
The United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) is the specialized agency of the United Nations that promotes industrial development for poverty reduction, inclusive globalization and environmental sustainability. The mission of UNIDO is to promote and accelerate inclusive and sustainable industrial development (ISID) in Member States. UNIDO’s mandate is fully recognized in SDG-9, which calls to “Build resilient infrastructure, promote inclusive and sustainable industrialization and foster innovation”.
This position is located under the Facility Management Services. As part of the common services, the UNIDO Facility Management Services (COR/BMS) is responsible for ensuring the safe and reliable operation, maintenance and repair of the Vienna International Centre (VIC) buildings and associated installations according to local building codes and standards.
Main Functions
- Assist in the maintenance and cleaning of the ventilation system, including humidifiers and regular replacement of air filters and fan belts.
- Assist in assembling, repair and installation of HVAC systems and equipment.
- Assist in checking hydraulic and pneumatic control systems.
- Support the Team at the planning, preparation and implementation of projects and renovation work.
- Ensure safe storage of building fixtures, equipment, spare parts, tools, and materials.
- Follow safety rules and regulations.
- Ensure that all relevant information related to work assigned is recorded in the Facility Management Electronic Workorder Platform.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.

Education
Completed secondary education is required. Certificate of completed apprenticeship in plumbing or related field is required.
Technical and Functional Experience
Minimum three (3) years of relevant experience in HVAC plants maintenance is required. Ability to use Microsoft Office is required.
Physical Requirements
Good physical condition is required. Work is organized around weekly changing shifts.
Languages
Working knowledge of English and fluency in German is required.
