Overview In this remotely-based consultancy, you will edit the final draft of UNEP’s 2026 State-of-Science Report on Endocrine Disrupting Chemicals, ensuring clarity, accuracy, and consistency. You will align language with the UNEP style, refine the executive summary, and flag inconsistencies for authors. You work with cross-functional teams to deliver a polished, publication-ready report that supports informed policy decisions on chemicals management. This role offers a meaningful chance to shape a high-profile environmental assessment. Verantwortungsbereiche Edit the final draft and executive summary for clarity and audience suitability Ensure high language standards: vocabulary, spelling, punctuation, grammar Maintain consistency across the document Add and validate cross-references where appropriate Ensure consistent use of terms and units Identify and flag factual inconsistencies for author review Adhere to UNEP style guide throughout the manuscript Zentrale Anforderungen Minimum 10 years of scientific editing, technical writing, proofreading, and publishing experience (8 years with Master’s degree) Excellent command of advanced English language and scientific terminology Proven editorial skills across research, writing, substantive editing, copy-editing, and proofreading of science publications Strong attention to detail and accuracy Experience with editorial practices of UNEP or comparable international organizations (desirable) Experience in environment, sustainable development, and science fields (added advantage) strong attention to detail excellent written and oral communication ability to work with cross-functional teams scientific editing copy-editing proofreading
