Overview
In this role you will support the Human Rights Inquiries Branch with administrative, budgetary and HR activities to ensure compliant, efficient operations. You will work closely with the HRIB and EDM to manage resources, procurement and data-informed planning. The position involves coordinating HR processes, overseeing financial controls, and providing guidance to junior staff. You will contribute to program implementation, reporting, and rapid deployment support within the UN system. This is a chance to influence governance and operational excellence in a high-stakes human rights environment.
Verantwortungsbereiche
- Coordinate administration of HR activities including recruitment, placement, performance appraisal, and staff rules adherence
- Assist in defining conditions of service and entitlements under Staff Rules
- Support planning and implementation of the HRIB work programme and budget
- Monitor progress, prepare program reports, and improve budget reporting systems
- Develop and enforce financial management controls in line with UN policies
- Provide guidance on financial administration and management information to colleagues
- Supervise and mentor junior staff
- Oversee procurement, travel, vendor contracts, space planning, and office technology needs
- Analyze data and present insights using charts and reports to support data-driven decision making
- Perform additional related duties as required
Zentrale Anforderungen
- Five years of progressively responsible experience in administration, finance, accounting, or HR management
- Three years of experience in the United Nations Common System or a similar international organization
- Experience with operational setups for new mandates or organizational entities in the UN or similar bodies
- Experience coordinating administrative support for rapid response or emergency deployments
- Experience in preparing budgets for grant proposals
- Experience using an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system
