Overview

In this role you support ITC’s coffee-sector program by strengthening GAP adoption and value chain development. You will coach farmers, lead training design and field demonstrations, and coordinate workshops to scale sustainable practices. You’ll work with local authorities and farmer trainers to enhance productivity, income, and coffee quality, including gender and youth-focused initiatives. The role offers hands-on field activity, capacity building, and data-driven monitoring to drive impact.

Verantwortungsbereiche

  • Provide technical support on Good Agricultural Practices (GAP) to boost productivity and farmer income
  • Design, organize, and deliver training modules on modern agricultural extension systems
  • Conduct regular field monitoring and inspections to manage pests and diseases
  • Organize and facilitate stakeholder workshops for smooth project implementation
  • Conduct diagnostic research to identify constraints faced by coffee producers
  • Prepare and compile technical and progress reports aligned with project objectives
  • Coordinate TOT sessions and support 18 Farmer Trainers
  • Support the establishment and operation of demonstration sites, including gender and youth considerations
  • Monitor capacity-building outcomes using digital dashboards and collect KPIs for reports
  • Coordinate stakeholder engagement at new project sites and facilitate community events
  • Ensure timely project reporting (bi-weekly to final)

Zentrale Anforderungen

  • University degree in Agricultural Economics and Management (or BA/BSC)
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in agriculture, value chain development, and coffee agronomy
  • Experience coordinating and leading groups of experts; working in developing countries
  • Experience with TOT sessions on coffee agronomic practices
  • Fluency in English and local language
  • Ability to work with minimum supervision and demonstrate initiative
  • Strong interpersonal, presentation, and communication skills
