Overview

In this role, you support the Vehicle Regulations and Transport Innovations Section in developing harmonized vehicle safety rules under UN agreements. You will serve as secretary to GRSP, assist WP.29/AC.3, and contribute to regulatory assessments, documentation, and capacity building. You will liaise with Contracting Parties and international partners to clarify technical and legal issues and push for safer vehicles. This is a critical role for advancing global vehicle safety standards and regulatory coherence.

Verantwortungsbereiche

  • Secretariat support to GRSP, including drafting agendas/reports, servicing meetings, and follow-up actions
  • Technical and legal support to GRSP on passive safety requirements and harmonization
  • Manage WP.29/AC.3 session prep: legal documents, voting tables, and report sections
  • Maintain and update the Compendium of Candidates and Global Registry under WP.29
  • Issue Official Notifications about changes in regulatory lists and ensure public availability of documents
  • Contribute to data collection, policy monitoring, and capacity-building activities for road safety
  • Consolidate legal texts of regulations under GRSP responsibilities
  • Represent the secretariat at international conferences and meetings on vehicle safety
  • Perform related duties as required

Zentrale Anforderungen

  • Advanced university degree in Engineering, Human Factors, or related area
  • At least 5 years’ professional experience in transport, mechanical/electrical engineering, automotive sector or related area
  • Experience in active or passive vehicle safety (2+ years desirable)
  • Policy formulation or servicing international meetings experience desirable
  • Fluency in English; French or other UN-designated languages desirable
  • Strong analytical, legal, and administrative skills
